How the Bluey coin ballot works

Popular Royal Australian Mint (RAM) Bluey releases are allocated by an online ballot run by EQL (“Run Fair”), designed to give genuine collectors a fair shot and deter bulk re-sellers.

Latest release: 2027 $1 Bluey Cricket coins — ballot ran Fri 18 Sep 2026 08:30 AEST to Mon 21 Sep 2026 08:30 AEST; general sale from Wed 23 Sep 2026 08:30 AEST.

Open the RAM ballot site (use “Notify me” for upcoming launches)

Step by step

  1. Find the launch. The ballot lives on the RAM’s EQL site, which lists each launch as upcoming (“Notify me”), open, or closed.
  2. Enter inside the window. Entry runs from the stated opening time until the closing time (typically 8:30am AEST).
  3. Wait for the draw. Winners are chosen at random and successful entrants are notified by email.
  4. Buy within your purchase window. Winners can purchase the product, subject to the per-person limit.
  5. If you missed out, watch for general sale: the Mint Shop in Canberra, the Mint Contact Centre (1300 652 020), participating Australia Post stores and authorised distributors — stock is limited and often sells out quickly.

FAQ

What is the EQL ballot?
The Royal Australian Mint uses an EQL "Run Fair" online ballot for high-demand releases such as Bluey coins. Entering during the window gives a random chance to buy, instead of a first-come rush.
Does entering guarantee a coin?
No. The draw is random; successful entrants are notified by email and then get the chance to buy.
Can I still buy if I miss the ballot?
Possibly. After the ballot, remaining stock goes on general sale at the Mint Shop, the Mint Contact Centre (1300 652 020) and participating authorised distributors or Australia Post stores, in limited quantities.
